Green Team Youth Program 

The Groundwork Indy Green Team program is intended to promote awareness and understanding of the natural environment, local food systems, and the protection and restoration of critical ecological systems and natural resources in the community through hands on improvement programs. Through the Indy Green Team Summer Program youth will be encouraged to become engaged members of the community by solving environmental issues especially those issues concerning the Northwest area as well as preparing for educational and career success in alternative “green” sector and environmental pathways.

The Green Team program offers part-time paid positions for middle and high school students, ages 14-18. The program has dual goals – to prepare youth for a lifetime of community and environmental leadership and to develop community capacity to improve the physical environment.

GroundCorp Program 

Work Opportunity for Out-Of-School Youth 16-24 Years Old

The Groundcorp Program offers part-time paid positions for out-of-school youth, ages 16-24, living in Indianapolis, IN. The Groundcorp Program provides hands-on environmental improvement projects such as invasive plant removal, landscape installation, and landscape maintenance. Groundcorp Crew members will participate in a program of life skills training and adult education and must complete the program in order to maintain employment.

Groundcorp Crew members will do the following:

+ Participate in life skills workshops, job preparedness training, and adult education;
+ Work 20 hours per week;
+ Earn $12 per hour with workers compensation insurance provided;
+ Participate in classroom-based and outdoor training(s).
