Green Team
What Green Team Is
Green Team is more than outdoor work. It is a structured job training program where youth learn how real projects are planned, executed, and completed. Every workday connects hands on environmental work with professional skills used in construction, operations, and management careers.

Project Management Skills You Will Learn
Green Team uses a PMP inspired curriculum to teach how work actually gets done in the professional world. Youth learn how to plan tasks, follow scopes of work, manage time, communicate progress, and adapt when things change.
Skills include:
• Understanding project goals and deliverables
• Following timelines and daily work plans
• Team roles and accountability
• Safety and quality control
• Reflecting on what worked and what can improve

Who Can Apply
Green Team is open to motivated high school age youth. No prior experience is required. We are looking for young people who want to learn, work as part of a team, and take responsibility for their role on a project.

What You Will Do
Youth crews complete real projects across Indianapolis including planting and tree care, invasive species removal, trail building and maintenance, park improvements, and site cleanups. Each project is approached like a job site, with goals, timelines, roles, and outcomes.

Why This Matters
These are the same core skills used in construction trades, union pathways, environmental careers, and management roles. Youth leave Green Team with experience they can talk about in interviews, applications, and future training programs.
They do not just say they worked a job. They can explain how a project was planned, executed, and completed.
