Groundwork Indy internships provide hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, environmental justice, youth development, community engagement, communications, fundraising, data systems, and workforce readiness.
Our internship program is designed to help students and emerging professionals build real-world skills while contributing to meaningful community-based work across Indianapolis.
Interns work alongside Groundwork Indy staff, community partners, and peer cohorts on projects that support environmental justice, youth success, neighborhood engagement, and organizational growth.

Internship Areas
Marketing & Communications
Support social media, storytelling, newsletters, graphics, content planning, photography, video, and public-facing communications.
Fundraising & Development
Assist with donor research, sponsorship outreach, grant support, advancement systems, events, and fundraising strategy projects.
Youth & Environmental Programs
Support Green Team and community-based programming focused on environmental justice, leadership development, and youth engagement.
Events & Community Outreach
Help coordinate events, outreach efforts, tabling opportunities, volunteer support, and partner engagement.
Operations, Research & Data
Assist with spreadsheets, systems organization, reporting, CRM/database work, process documentation, and research projects.
